The Challenge.
The Royal Botanic Gardens needed to launch their brand with a bang so that people everywhere could understand the significance of their work. But they had a small problem. It was 2021 and Sydney was in the middle of a series of lockdowns.
They wouldn’t let COVID stop them and tasked us with finding a way to help them connect with their audience and celebrate (safely) in style.
Our Approach.
We hosted several workshops with the Gardens and developed the concept of a full virtual event, broadcast as a live premiere then made available to view on demand. The video would encourage its audience to learn about the Institute from the safety of their own space.
After developing the creative and concept, writing scripts and organising the event program, we embarked on a large scale production to turn the idea into reality. That included crafting all pre-filmed inserts, which were captured over six shoot days in several locations.
Chief Executive Denise Ora hosted the event on the broadcast’s central stage, the Calyx, with a backdrop of lush flora. From this central Anchor, Ora introduced other key speakers, videos and special guests throughout the broadcast.
The Result.
The event combined gorgeous natural footage and engaging speeches by experts, key staff, royals and celebrities to celebrate the The Australian Institute of Botanical Sciences.
Slick production management and outstanding talent meant that the final result was a resounding success.
