The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) sought to raise awareness of consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law among Generation Z. They needed a creative partner to develop a compelling campaign that would resonate with this young, digitally-native audience.
We began by deeply understanding our Gen Z audience, recognising their preference for authenticity, bite-sized information, and relatable pop culture references. Their visual style embraces maximalism, vibrant colours, and eclectic designs. With this insight, we proposed a series of short, engaging videos using a collage motion graphic style. This approach allowed us to create visually striking content that aligned with Gen Z aesthetic preferences while effectively communicating key consumer rights information.
Our creative process involved crafting scripts that addressed common consumer issues faced by Gen Z, such as problems with used cars, electronics, gaming consoles, and subscription traps. Based on the approved style and scripts, we produced a variety of video assets, including 15-second Hero Explainers, 30-second Explainers, and 6-second Bumpers for social media use, along with additional campaign design assets.
The final campaign successfully translated complex consumer rights information into easily digestible, visually appealing content for Gen Z audiences. By using relatable scenarios and a collage motion graphic style, we achieved increased engagement and improved awareness of ACCC’s role and available remedies.
